I love this article! This is a topic I’ve been pondering while diving into the Ralph Lauren style. I didn’t get very far but love learning these iconic Americana things are truly American.
I’ve been studying this, so I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness of your content.
I was also wondering, would you ever consider posting the Classic American Living Guide here on Substack so it could all live in one place? Absolutely no worries at all if that’s not possible. Just wanted to ask. Thank you again! Loved this article. Can’t wait to learn more.
Hillary, I really enjoyed this article about things that are quintessentially American! Though I am proud of my Norwegian heritage (100% of my ancestry came from Norway), I am very thankful to be an American!
Love this article and the history behind this”lifelong southern American” girl who loves New England Cottage style. ❤️❤️❤️. Can’t wait to watch this all the way through with you!!!
I love the idea that Classic American Style is collected over time. Not purchased in one afternoon. Not ordered from a big box store. It represents family who have come before us. It brings to mind cultures that are woven into the fabric of each individual family. American Style is a snapshot of the things we treasure from the past and things we want to take with us into the future. This Style reflects a way of living that seems to be missing at the moment.
I’m excited to follow your restoration journey… and to learn more about American Style, as you see it.
Love following you. Admire what you stand so strong for. Wish you didn’t have to share your story on Substack. I sort of get it but can’t do the pay to watch. Will get what I can for free. You are a true inspiration. Best luck on the adventure!

Yes that’s a great idea. I need to figure out how to do that!
“Hard labor, family, and the rugged terrain” - I love this picture/definition of American so hard!
Viva Americana 🇺🇸
I want more!! (: Already feeling the creative juices flowing, thank you!

Iced tea being invented because someone panicked at a hot fair is the most American origin story ever
Especially fond of the hydrangea history. Will make them extra special when I admire their bloom this year!
Yes! I was thinking I need to spruce the house up with these varieties!
